About. The most important fact to know about me is that I care. I care about my client's goals, frustrations, successes, small steps, big steps, failures and overall well being. That caring has driven my evolution as an educator and quest to satiate my insatiable curiosity to learn more about the brain and how it works. This has enabled me to meet the needs of my clients exactly where they are in a meaningful and purposeful way. Below you can find more details about my journey.

Heather McKinzey the journey I graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Education and began my teaching career. During the two decades as a classroom teacher in public and independent schools, I encountered all types of learners. I quickly became aware that there is no standardized student, they are wildly unique and varied. That realization drove me to pursue more training and ultimately certification in Gifted and Talented, dyslexia, ADHD and executive function.

Through the years, I realized the most important aspects of working with students are:
1. Building a mutually respectful relationship 2. Providing opportunities for students to evaluate and reflect on their own work. This was the perfect groundwork for becoming a trained ADHD Coach through JST Coaching and Training. Today, I apply my experience as an educator and my training as an ADHD coach to meet the individual needs of my clients. I am honored to be a part of their journey and to support them as they move toward their goals. |
